250 journalists storm Abuja for 2nd MMPN conference

At least 250 journalists from different media industries and business interests across the 36 states of Nigeria are expected to grace the 2nd national convention of the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) scheduled to hold in Abuja. The convention with the theme: “2019: Our Role” would hold between Friday 27th and Sunday 29th of April, 2018 at the National Mosque Conference Hall, Abuja. The president of the association, Mr. Abdur-Rahman Balogun in a statement issued in Abuja yesterday said the convention’s formal opening will be chaired by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).

He added that a Professor of Language Arts and Communication, Taofiq Adesina AbdulAzeez, who is also the Imam of the University of Abuja, will deliver a keynote address, adding that the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) will be installed as the Grand Patron of the association. Others expected guests at the opening ceremony include governors, ministers, directors general of agencies and National Assembly members. Established over 25 years ago with the purpose to educate, enlighten and address societal problems, MMPN is committed to all-round human development based on Islamic values, the statement said.
