A former rector of Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, in Nasarawa state, Prof. Shettima Saidu has said that a total of 26 courses were accredited while seven others got interim approval in four years for the institution.
Prof. Saidu stated this during a handover ceremony where he handed over the school administration to the acting rector, Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed in the school.
He said the courses were approved by the regulatory agencies because officials performed their duties with dedication and honesty. He also said that TETFund grants were wisely utilised in the provision of infrastructure and that some of the new structures constructed included a lecture theatre and an administrative office.
Prof. Saidu added that the polytechnic was able to introduce a School of Information Technology and also restructured the School of Continuing Education. Also staff welfare had been enhanced.
Responding, the acting rector, Ahmed, thanked the institution for giving him the opportunity to serve in the capacity. He promised to be fair and just to all and keep the good legacy of his predecessor.
