3 policemen nabbed for ‘killing Gov Orji’s aide’

Three policemen have been arrested in Umuahia by the Abia State Police Command in connection with Saturday’s killing of an aide to Governor Theodore Orji.

Spokesperson of the command, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonnaya, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), confirmed the death of the aide, identified as John Ndubuka as well as he arrests.

Ogbonnaya told journalists in Umuahia that the suspects were arrested between Saturday evening and Sunday morning, adding that the command had commenced full investigation into the incident.
He explained that the investigation would help the police to unravel the circumstances that led to the death.

Blueprint gathered that the incident occurred during a civic reception organised for the governor in Umuahia by Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South local government areas of the state.

The police reportedly fired shots into the air to disperse the crowd at the entrance to the venue of the reception, however, it is yet to be ascertained if the killer shot came from the police.
