300 Borno students get dep. gov, media aide’s scholarship

About 300 Borno students have been offered scholarship by the deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Usman Durkwa and a senior special adviser, media, Kwapchi Bata Dibal.
Two hundred of them were indigent students from Hawul local government area while 100 others were non-indigents from Maiduguri Metropolitan Council.
The 200 indigent students of Hawul council were those recently enrolled into various sciences and arts programmes in the various institutions of higher learning, including the College of Education, Waka-Biu, aimed at assisting students and their parents acquire knowledge and skills towards contributing to development of the state.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent in Maiduguri yesterday, the deputy governor who hailed from Hawul local government area with Kwapchi Bata said, “They were motivated by Governor Kashim Shettima’s policy and desire to ensure that every child, particularly girl-child acquires western education.”
