3,850 APC loyalists join PDP in Yobe

No fewer than 3850 All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains and other members from Yobe south have shifted their loyalty to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The defectors were drawn from Potiskum, Fika, Nangere and Fune Local Government Areas that formed Yobe south senatorial district.

Receiving the new entrants at the flag off of his re-election campaign in Potiskum town yesterday, over the weekend, Senator representing Yobe south senatorial district, Mohammed Hassan, praised them for mustering the courage to defect to the PDP.

“I congratulate you for being bold enough to dump a rudderless party. The coming election is a contest between you (the oppressed) and the oppressors,” he said and assured them of equal treatment in the party.

Also, he charged them to work hard and cooperate with other members to mobilize and ensure that the party wins in all elections in their respective areas.

Engineer Inusa Isah, who spoke on behalf of the defectors said lack of internal democracy and discrimination were some of the issues that compelled them to dump their former party.

He assured the leadership of PDP in the zone and the state that, they will ensure that the party succeeds in February and March elections.

Potiskum, one of the most highly densely populated towns in Yobe State.
