4 killed in Ibadan market auto crash

There was confusion at the Dugbe-Alesinloye market road in Ibadan Wednesday morning when an articulated lorry lost control and killed four people.

Eye witness account stated that the articulated lorry driver reportedly lost control crushing a Micra taxi and three commercial motorcycles said to be heading towards Dugbe area of Ibadan.

According to the eye witness, three of the passengers in the Micra cab died instantly while one of the riders of the motorcyclists also died on the spot. 

It was learnt that all efforts by the driver of the articulated lorry at managing the situation failed forcing him to shout at the top of his voice for help which attracted the passers-by to the lorry. 

Contacted, the Oyo state FRSC Sector Commander, Mrs. Chukwura Uche confirmed the accident, saying three females and one male died in the accident.

The Oyo state FRSC Sector Commander attributed the accident to break failure on the part of the articulated lorry.

Eye witness accounts said the remains of the victims had been moved to the morgue at Adeoyo hospital.
