45-yr after, Oyetola inaugurates 8.1km Moro-Asipa road


Osun state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, inaugurated 8.1km newly constructed Moro junction-Yakooyo-Ipetumodu-Asipa-Ife/Ibadan expreasway road after 45 years of its construction. 


This is just as the Governor promised to complete all the ongoing projects he started and do more within the limited period of leas than two years.  


He said the project was inaugurated in fulfilment of his administration’s goal to deliver quality services to the people and in fulfilment of his electoral promises to raise the bar infrastructure, boost socio-economic activities and stimulate the economy of the State. 


Oyetola who noted that he has funded all the major road projects he inherited from the previous administration, maintained that his administration has carried out about 100 road intervention efforts, including construction and rehabilitation of over 80 rural and township roads across the three Senatorial Districts. 


He said, “the reconstruction of Iloro- Aganun road, Ile-Ife, will be completed in few months from now. We have successfully done 41 PHCs in the entire Ife land while the rehabilitation of the General Hospital, Ifetedo, has been completed.


The road will offer your farmers and traders the opportunity to transport their produce and goods to the market.

“I must also restate my call for the need for your communities and other towns in the State to engage in community development efforts to provide projects for the people as government alone cannot provide all the facilities every town requires.”


Earlier, a members of House of Assembly representing Ife North, Hon Lekan Olatunji, described the project as the biggest in the history of Ife North. 


He described the achievement of Oyetola within 940 days as unequal, saying “in the next 521 days, the inauguration of second term as governor of Osun would be celebrated. 


He promised that people of the constituency will always stand by Oyetola’s administration and support his second term ambition. 


Also, former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Alani Akinrinade, commended the governor for prudent management of resources to justify the confidence reposed in him by the electorates.


He disclosed that the road was constructed in 1976 and subsequent government have been promising to fix it.
