A resident of Nyuwar, Kabiru Abubakar Suleiman who also spoke to our reporter on phone however said 8 persons were killed, while many were injured during the attack by the Waja militant who attacked the Lunguda communities.

“Lunguda community of Nyuwar and Jessu in Balanga local government area of Gombe state came under heavy attack in the early morning of 13th April, 2021 by some youth,” he said.

A source from the area, Monday Ishaya told Blueprint that the attack might be a reprisal on the Lunguda communities resulting from Lunguda/Waja crisis in Dumna and Lafiya in Adamawa state early last year.
