‘5 Zamfara cattle rustlers in police net’

Zamfara state police command has arrested five suspected cattle rustlers as part of the command’s readiness to combat cattle rustling and other armed banditry in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kenneth Ibrimson, disclosed this yesterday while parading the suspects before newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.
According to him, a total of 151 cattle and 29 sheep were recovered from the suspects.
He said the suspects had confessed to the police to be belonging to a gang of cattle rustlers that had been terrorising the state.
Ibrimson said the suspects were Babangida Abubakar, Abdu Abubakar, Nura Abdullahi, Sani Sani and Abubakar Bala.
He said the exhibits recovered from them had already been handed over to the Peace and Reconciliation Committee led by the deputy governor to enable the owners to claim same.
He also said two suspected kidnappers, Mansur Marafa and Danjika Garaba, charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide that confessed to the police to have abducted the victim, killed and buried him in a shallow grave, were arrested by the Command.
While calling on the general public to feel free to give useful information about criminals and their hideouts for urgent action by the command against them.
He stressed that “whoever feeds the police with information his confidentiality will be fully protected by the Command.”
