51% Nigerians went to bed hungry in 2017

 

Afro Barometer conducted by CLEEN foundation in collaboration with Practical Sampling International (PSI) yesterday revealed that more than one third of Nigerians went without basic life necessities in 2017.
The report also revealed that about 51 percent of Nigerians went without enough food in the period under review.
It also revealed that medical care at 48 percent, cooking fuel 47 percent, water at 41 percent even as 77 percent went without any income in the same period under review.
The representative of PSI, Moses Olusola, explained that the report also sort the views of Nigerians on their experience whenever they tried to get certain public services in the review period.
“Majorities say it was “difficult” or “very difficult “ to obtain identity documents at 65 percent, police assistance 64 percent and household utility services at 59 percent, “
He also said the PSI contacted the National Population Commission (NPC) before the survey was conducted adding that data used was collated electronically.
He disclosed that 1,600 data was collated for the survey and that fund was a constraint in the process of random selection.
