Burutai commends GOC 8 Division on fight against banditry

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has charged members of the public to pass accurate and relevant information of bandits in their respective areas to the security agencies.

Buratai, who stated this in Sokoto when commission projects executed by the 8 Mechanised Division of the Nigerian Army at 26 Battalion, Sokoto, in collaboration with army headquarters also commended present administration for its support towards achieving sustainable peace and security in the country.

The army chief, represented by the commandant, Nigerian Army Training Centre, Maj.-Gen. Mohammad Mahmud Mshell, reiterated the Army’s commitment to the welfare of its officers and men, adding that their welfare was of paramount importance.

He commended the acting general officer commanding 8 Division GOC, Brig.-Gen. Aminu Bande, for executing the projects, saying that it would boost the morale and efficiency of the personnel.

Bande, who was represented by the Chief of Staff of the Division, Brig.-Gen. Hamid Musa, said the projects were executed to improve standards of living of personnel in the barracks.
