A A Sule’s second term inauguration: Nasarawa heading to better days

Today Nigeria will be witnessing a change of baton at the federal level with the inauguration of His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the 5th Executive President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

At the state levels, we will be expecting handover to new administrations and a continuation of governments for states where the governors won reelection.

One of the states that will attract attention and where the governor will be sworn in for a second term in office is Nasarawa State. Nasarawa is one of the states in the country which has a heterogeneous population and one of the most relatively peaceful states in the country. With an active border with the Federal Capital Territory FCT, the state boasts of people from all works of life who reside in the state and go to work at the FCT.

For most of the people of the state be it Indigenes and non Indigenes, the inauguration of His Excellency Alhaji A A Sule will be a welcome one for all. A humble, quiet and an unassuming personality, A A Sule has achieved without being controversial. With the little resources that comes to the state, he has managed to touch the lives of the people from the health sector, to agriculture, to Sports, infrastructural development and promotion of peaceful and harmonious relationships among the people of the state and non Indigenes.

Some of the projects are the state of the art Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall, which is now a cash cow for the state.

Unlike some governors who have been in running battles with their predecessors leading to abandonment of projects , His Excellency Alhaji A A Sule has not towed such ignoble path rather he has completed their projects. Some of the projects are the state of the art Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall, which is now a cash cow for the state. Other laudable projects completed are the renaming of projects after past governors of the state. These include the completion of the new Presidential Lodge after the immediate past governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura as Umaru Tanko Al-Makura Presidential lodge, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the ongoing Kwandare-Keffi Road, the speedy completion and handing over of Kwandare airport to the federal government, as well as fast tracking of the taking over of Farin Ruwa by the federal government.

As a man who understands development and the need for investments into the state with it’s status as an emerging economy, his administration organised the Nasarawa Investment Summit using bright minds. I wish to quote a section of his statement at the summit which underscored the importance of the summit. “It is pertinent to state that, as a State, we have been very deliberate in stimulating our economy, building human capacities, creating wealth and generating employment in the State. It is for this reason that when we assumed office in 2019, we constituted the Economic Investment Advisory Council, headed by Prof. Konyisola Ajayi (SAN) and other respectable Members both within and outside the country, with the objective of providing strategic advice and support to Government in promoting economic development and attracting investment into the State. I am happy to inform you that the recommendation of the Council has resulted to the development of the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS) and subsequent establishment of the Nasarawa State Investment Development Agency (NASIDA), under which auspices we are gathered here today, as well as the enactment and signing into law of the Nasarawa Public Procurement Law toward ensuring transparency, accountability and prudent management of public resources”.

As we celebrate the second term inauguration of His Excellency today, I call on all people of the state to embrace his administration and be rest assured that the state will witness better days ahead.

Congratulations Your Excellency
