A/Ibom: Shun fraud, focus on genuine businesses, group urges youths


A group of young business professionals under the umbrella body of International Christians Chamber of Commerce  (ICCC) has advised  youths to refrain from fraudulent businesses and focus on credible enterprises for profitable results.

The National President of the group, Mr Gideon Ekanem, who spoke during a media chat with newsmen in Uyo on Tuesday, cautioned the youths to imbibe what he described as scriptural principles of making money without committing crime or fraud in a competitive economy.

Ekanem disclosed that the group is replicated in over 80 countries in the world, recruiting young professionals for genuine businesses across the globe.

He listed cardinal objectives to include training of young professionals for excellence in stewardship, exposure to Networking opportunities in countries such as Sweden, Netherlands, United Kingdom as well as life transforming services. 

“This organisation is to connect young professionals across Nigeria who are in entrepreneurship between the age of 18 and 40. International  Christian Chamber of Commerce is to engage young business people in business plans in line with the word of God rather than fraudulent means,” he said.

He said leadership skills acquired through the group will certainly build the youths towards integrity and sincerity in their dealings. 

According to him, “Integrity will begin with servant leader principles that would reflect in your relationship with your employees working with you. Before I pay myself salary in my business place I must pay my workers my workers first.”

Ekanem further mentioned sharing of ideas during meetings , International connections to boast business relationships and cross fertilization of business plans as benefits to  members in the organisation. 

In a telephone interview, the national prayer secretary of the group and former governorship aspirant on the platform of People Democratic Party ( PDP) in Akwa Ibom, Pastor David Okpon, advised young business to be scripturally spiritual in their businesses and avoid carnalities as business have foundations in the spirit than physical.
