Abbo may drag contractors to EFCC, ICPC over abandoned projects

The senator representing Adamawa North senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Elisha Abbo has expressed disappointment with contractors handling kudzum, dilchi and Wuro Gandi bridges in his senatorial district.

As he has also hinted that if need be he won’t hesitate to drag the contractors to anti graft agencies such as EFCC and ICPC to look into the matter noting that, he will not allow his people to continued to be left out of the world.

Abbo stated this at the weekend during his assessment tour of some projects sites in his constituency which includes kudzum, dilchi and Wuro Gandi bridges.

“we have come here together with my brother Hon.zakaria Dauda Nyanpa  representing Michika – madagali federal constituency  after receiving briefing in Abuja from the contractors to assess the level of work done and go back to confront ministry and everybody involved in this job so that if need be we will invite antigraft agencies like EFCC, ICPC to look into this matter.”

He further explained that few days ago he had a meeting in Abuja with contractors handling the projects who assured him that the project is on course and work is ongoing in site and that kudzum bridge is under construction  they only challenged they are having  is due to rainfall which stopped them from reacting a full bridge but their equipments are already on site.

But disappointedly on reaching the site he only met a single crane without even a single person working on site adding that, there was a budgetary provisions  for this project and based on records and facts available to him, the contractors collected nearly 2bn without much to show for it.

According to him, they came to the site not only to see the level of work done by the contractors but to also compared it with the money received by the contractors so far but to their dismay nothing concrete on ground to justify the money collected by the contractors.

Even as he noted that, they will not allowed their people and communities to be left out of the world and he will do everything within his power to followed up the matter and ensure the completion of the project for the benefit of his people.
