Abducted Zamfara students yet to be rescued as CP joins search operations

Two days after the kidnap of over 300 Government Girls Secondary School Jangebe female students under Talata Mafara local government of Zamfara state, the Police Command said their location is still unknown.

Already, the state Commissioner of Police CP Abutu Yaro has joined the Nigera Police Special Forces deployed to the state by the Inspector General of Police in a joint task operation for the search and operation of the whereabout of the kidnapped female students inside forest in the state.

According to the state Command Public Relations Officer Sp Muhammad Shehu in an update interview with Blueprint on the matter, Saturday, said, already the Commissioner used an operational vehicle to the forest with a view to have effective survelance about the location where the kidnapped female students were kept in bandits’ captivity.

“Presently, the state Commissioner of Police CP Abutu Yaro has joined the Nigera Police Special Forces and sister security personnel in search of the kidnapped Zamfara female students and immediately they traced the location, he will bring a signal for the proper operation of the two Helicopters deployed by the IGP to rescue the students peacefully,” Sp. Shehu stated.

He appealed to the public and parents of the kidnapped students to remain calm and support the security agencies particularly police in their efforts to ensure the students are rescued unconditionally and safely.
