Abia APGA unity paramount than self interest – Ugorji

A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance( APGA) and the Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency seat former aspirant in the just concluded election Hon Mark Ugorji has said the party’s coming together as one united front is more important to him than his  personal ambition.

Ugorji disclosed in Umuahia while reacting to the reconciliation of the two factions after a protracted crisis which almost crippled the party in the state

He said there was no doubt the crisis affected chances of securing the ticket to represent the Ikwuano Umuahia in the 9th National Assembly, saying however that the reconciliation was more important than personal ambition.

Further, he said what remains of paramount interest now is to rebuild the party ahead of 2023 election now that the hitherto crisis has been resolved.

The quantity surveyor added that his personal ambition remains secondary to the unity of the party of which the party was reckoned with in the past.

Hon Ugorji, who is aspiring to lead the state chapter of the party in their forthcoming congress, commended the leadership of his party for restoring peace, stressing the party would be repositioned soon.

He said the party could not achieve much without unity of purpose, even as he expressed optimism that the party would spring surprises in 2023.

Meanwhile, the state chairman of the party, Rev Augustine Ehiemere, has lauded Ozomkpu Ike Oye-led national leadership for ensuring that APGA in Abia is united under one umbrella under his watch.

He assured that since the crisis is over, APGA would put up a good showing in the state come 2023.

Meanwhile, the party national chairman said when he saw documents signed by Rev Augustine Ehiemere and Elder Sunday Onukwubiri as the state chairman and secretary of the party respectively, he agreed that peace has returned.

He urged them to consolidate on the gains of peaceful reconciliation to move the party forward in the state.
