Abia flags off 2014 Health Fair

Abia state First Lady, Odochi Orji, on Monday flagged off the 2014 Abia State Health Fair with a call on people to think positively, live healthy  life and condition oneself into eating more fruits, vegetables and exercise always.

The First Lady listed cancer, diabetics mellitus, high blood pressure, arthritis, infertility and others as associated ailments that had emerged as a challenge to good health in the state.

Lady Orji described them as “a threat to the human race,” noting that with proper health care, education and management, their effects would be controlled.

Earlier, in his speech, the Umuahia North Council Chairman, Chukwudi Ndumele, described the Fair which is being held in collaboration with the state Ministry of Health as “a further demonstration” of Governor Theodore Orji’s passion and compassion for the people.
