Abia govt suspends medical workers’ election over security concerns

The Abia state government Thursday suspended the delegates’ conference of the Medical and Health Workers Union slated for Eastern Comfort Hotel, Umuahia following report of imminent break down of law and order.

A press statement issued by the chief press secretary to the governor, Barr Onyebuchi Ememanka, made available to Blueprint, Wednesday evening  said the state governor, Okezie IKpeazu  directed suspension of the election till further notice.

 He called on all concerned to adhere strictly to the directive while security agencies were ordered to ensure the strict implementation of the directive.
