He further pointed out that he was running for Ikwuano Umuahia House of Representatives because it was the turn of the Ohuhu people as their Ibeku brothers have taken their turn in the past.

Aguocha said that it would be travesty of justice to deny his Ohuhu people the chance of representation at the Green Chambers with their Ibeku  brothers having earlier taken their turn in the person of Hon Stanley Ohajuruka, the former Speaker of Abia House of Assembly.

“I’m running for Federal House under Labour Party with Mr Peter Obi as the presidential candidate and Dr Alex Otti as the governorship candidate. We are going to move the country from a consuming nation to a producing country if voted to power”, Obi Aguocha said.

On his part, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Umuahia East constituency, Deacon Iyke Nwoke, said that he has been in PDP with intention of going to House of Assembly but was denied tickets for 16 years  on flimsy excuses by the powers that be in the state.

He told said in this 2022 primaries after he was denied ticket once again,he decided not to step down and defected to another party to actualize his political ambition.

Nwoke noted that as an Educationist and a successful business man, he has what it takes to win the forthcoming election under ADC.

He called on the voters to borrow a leaf on the track records of performance from Mr Peter Obi on when he was the former Governor of Anambra state, adding that he would add legislative value in Abia House of Assembly if voted to power.

In his response, the founder of Abia Yes Movement, Prince Kelechi Apugo, said that the structure was formed to enthrone good governance by voting credible candidates to power irrespective of party affiliations.

He noted that Abia Yes Movement is a registered non governmental organization, an affiliate of Global Hope International aimed at voting for people who have credibility and vote out those political office holders who are found wanting of their representations.

“We formed Abia Yes Movement as anti-bad governance movement and to kick out the sit- tight political office holders who have failed woefully in the representations,” he said.
