Commander-General of Abia state vigilante group, Chief Martins Idika Mba, has stressed the need for all security agencies to work together in order to make Abia a crime free state .
The Abia vigilante group boss stated this Friday in Umuahia while analysing the security situation in Abia state against the current attacks on the security agencies in the state by some cultist groups in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the state.
Mba stated that last month, some cultists known as “Aroo Boys” attacked his men while returning from duty. He said they burnt down their office building at Obuda in Uratta, Aba south local government area of the state and took away valuables in the office. He said he raised alarm which fell on deaf ears.
He wondered what will become of the public outcry now that the same notorious cultists in Aba attacked police personnel. The new, he said, is everywhere, adding that there is need for all the security agencies in the state to work together in order to nip in the bud any crime or criminality that may arise from time to time.
Abia Vigilante Commander General said the work of the state owned outfit is to compliment the efforts of the the federal government owned security agencies adding that they can only achieve greater results if they work together as a team.
In Abia, vigilante group is on top of the security situation because they are on ground and they know the nooks and crannies of the state. They fish out bad boys in the hide outs, which resulted in reprisal attacks on his men and offices in Aba.
To make Abia state crime- free,all hands must be on deck by all security agencies. He commended Governor IKpeazu for the support given to his group to achieve the success recorded so far by the state owned Vigilante group.
He also lauded Abia state governor for setting up a committee that would look into the immediate and remote causes of attacks on security men by these undesirable elements in Aba.
He expressed optimism that Dr Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, a known and tested hand on security matters will definitely come out with a far- reaching measure to curb the attacks on security men by some cultists in Aba.
