ABU reappoints ex-NUJ chair director

Authorities of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria have reappointed veteran journalist and academic, Dr.
Ismail Shehu as Director, Directorate of Public Affairs of the institution.
Conveying his reappointment in a letter signed by the Registrar of the university, described him “as fit for the job” considering his wealth of experience in human relations and diplomacy.
Until his reappointment, Dr Shehu was a senior lecturer in political science at the department of political science and international relations.
Our correspondent reports that the don held the same position within administrative cycle of the institution during the immediate past Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Mustapha’s tenure.
Before joining the service of the university, the veteran journalist worked with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Kaduna national station.
Dr Shehu was also a onetime chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Kaduna state council before serving as media aide to the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
