Abuja-Kaduna train services set to resume, 8 months after terrorists’ killings, abduction 

The  Federal Government has announced the resumption of the Abuja -Kaduna train services on Monday December 5, 2022. 

This is coming after eight months when the train service was suspended due to terrorists’ attack on the line, where over 10 persons were killed and over 50 others abducted. 

In a press release signed by the Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation Fidet Okhiria, the servIce will commence with two return services as follows – Abuja-Kaduna (DEP/AR) from Idu Station (Abuja) Rigassa Station (Kaduna) 9.4SHRS(DEP)11 53HPS (ARR).

He said train service will commence in Kubwa Station (Abuja) -Rigassa Station (Kaduna)-10.06HRS (DEP)-11 53 HRS(ARR) and Idu Station (Abuja)-Rigassa Station(Kaduna) 15.30HRS (DEP)-17 33H9 (ARR).

Also, train service will commence in Kubwa Station (Abuja)-Rigassa Station (Kaduna) -15.50HRS (DEP) 17.38HRS(ARR). 

He said the train service will commence from Kaduna -Abuja (DEP/ARR), Rigassa Station (Kaduna)-Kubwa Station (Abj)-8.00HRS(DEP)-9.57HRS (ARR)Rugassa Station (Kaduna) ldu Station (Abj) 3.00HRS (DEP) 10.17iRSARR.

Also, train service from Rigassà Station (Kaduna)-Kubwa Station (Abj) 14 0OHRS(DEP 15.47HRS(ARR)adding that from Rigassa Station (Kaduna), Idu station (Abj)14.00HRS(Dep) 16.07HRS (ARR).

As part of security measures, he urged passengers to board with the National identification number (NIN) for every adult, valid boarding ticket adding that no access will be allowed into the departure or arrival hall without a valid ticket. 

According to him, purchase of ticket by proxy is only limited to minors and specified number of adult passengers. 

He said all online and mobile app ticket purchases will be available from 8:00am on Sunday December 4, 2022, stating that ticket offices at the stations will be opened from 06.30am on Monday.
