Niger Delta activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, yesterday charged Deltans to protect oil facilities and continue to tread the path of peace while calling for credible and peaceful council election scheduled for January 6, 2018.
Mulade, who is also the national coordinator of Centre For Peace And Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) stated this in his new year goodwill message in Kokodiagbene community in Warri South local government area of the state.

According to him, “DSIEC should conduct a transparent, credible, free and fair local government election on January 6, 2018 in the state. The electoral body should allow other political parties to exercise their rights. There should be a level playing ground for all parties in the forthcoming local polls in the State. The rules of the game must be obeyed. Let there be credible polls in Delta state.”
He said Deltans should respect constituted authorities and leaders as well as protect oil facilities and continue to tread the path of peace.
He appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to find permanent solution to the crisis between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh while urging the two communities to sheath their swords and embrace peace.
“The state government should come out with a white paper on the Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh crisis. Government should bring an end to the crisis between the two Communities,” he said.
He then urged the federal government to commence the Ogoni cleanup, adding that; “Ogoni clean up should begin now. Federal government should clean up the environment. Government should not play politics with the Ogoni cleanup but pay attention to the environment.
