Adamawa assembly begins moves to probe Bindow over debt profile

Shocked by the alarming debt profile incurred by Governor Bindow jibrilla within four years despite the huge resources received by the state the period; the Adamawa state House of Assembly has commence moves to probe the immediate past administration.

The decision was taken during plenary session via a motion of urgent public importance raised by member representing Hong constituency Hon.Bathily wisely (APC), who draw the attention of his colleagues to this frightening debt profile and illegal recruitments in the state.

This decision by the lawmakers is coming barely one week after their inauguration and two weeks after a state wide broadcast by the governor who suspended and sacked some government appointees.

The governor also reversed all recruitments and employment done by the past administration after 28th march 2019.

The motion was seconded by Hon.Abdullahi Umar yapak( APC Verre constituency) leading to several contributions by other lawmakers on the need for the Assembly to investigate the matter in the overall interest of the state.

After several contributions and debates, speaker Aminu Iya Abbas who presided over the sitting put the matter into vote and it was supported by majority lawmakers through a voice votes and the Assembly decided to constitute an adhoc committee to carry out the investigation and report back to the house for necessary action.
