Adamawa: Fintiri appoints Atiku’s son, PDP scribe, 21 others commissioner nominees

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has received a list of 23 Commissioner Nominees from Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The list includes Adamu Atiku, son of the Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar.

Adamu Atiku was nominated from Jada, along with kinsman Aloysius Babadoke, while the PDP Secretary in the state, Abdullahi Prambe, was nominated from Song LGA.

The list of nominees was contained in a letter sent to the House of Assembly by the Governor and read on the floor by Speaker Aminu Iya during Wednesday plenary session.

The others nominated by the governor include Mustapha Musa Jika from Yola South, Ibrahim Yayaji Mijinyawa (Yola North), Umar Iya Daware (Fufore), Shaibu Audu from Mayo Belwa, Sanusi Faruq from Toungo, Elijah Tumba and Ishaya John Dabari from Michika, while Muhammad Umar was nominated from Madagali Local Government area.

The others include Barr Sunday Mathew from Mubi North, Prof Isa Abdullahi from Mubi South, Hassan Kaigamma from Maiha, Dr Umar Garba from Hong, Lami Patrick from Gombi, Usman Yahaya Diyajo from Girei, and Bappa Dalhatu Isa from Ganye.

Fintiri also nominated Mrs Wilbina Jackson from Guyuk, Justina Obadiah Nkom from Lamurde, Iliya James from Demsa, Adamu Titus from Shelleng, and Shuaibu Audu from Mayo-Belwa.

After presenting the letter listing the nominees, Speaker Aminu Iya Abbas who presided over the Wednesday sitting, directed the Chairman, House Committee on Rules, Business, Ethics and Privileges, to schedule the letter for further action.

Our correspondent reports that only on Tuesday, the Adamawa State House of Assembly approved Gov Fintiri’s request to appoint 40 special advisers.
