Adamawa governor-elect gets INEC’s certificate of return, less than 24 hours after supplementary poll

The governor-elect of Adamawa State, Mr Ahmadu Fintiri, has immediately been issued certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) less than 24 hours after his election victory.

After the event on Friday at the INEC office in Yola, Fintiri commended INEC for conducting what he described as a peaceful, credible and fair election in the state.

He also called on the people to join hands with him to address some of the issues confronting the state.

“God has crowned it with success that we have witnessed today. And I dedicate that to the good people of this state who have believed in me, who have round the state to ensure that they endured and fought throughout this election,” he said.

Fintiri, however, appealed to supporters of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be calm while celebrating his victory ahead of his inauguration on May 29.
