Adamawa: Nyako, Abbas, others no threat to my senatorial ambition – Danmaje

The senatorial candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Adamawa Central, and Danmaje Adamawa Alhaji Ahmadu Hamman, has expressed optimism that he would clinch the seat during the 2023 elections, going by his popularity and acceptability among the electorate.

The politician gave this assurance in an interview with journalists in Yola at the weekend after inaugurating his campaign committee where he explained that both APC and PDP senatorial candidates for Adamawa Central are no threat to his ambition.

“We are confident that this time around we are going to defeat the ruling party and the second largest political party in Nigeria; PDP and APC. I was once in APC but I have moved the train. I was part of the national government and so I have no doubt that there is no single person in APC that will be a threat to me,” he boasted.

“I am very sure they know my capacity, they know how reliable I am when it comes to politics and I’m going to deliver this seat to NNPP insha Allah. There is no doubt about it; APC or PDP will not be an obstacle to us.”

The senatorial hopeful further explained that for the past 20 years PDP have been visible in Nigerian politics and have been in power for many years but have nothing on ground to showcase as achievements even APC which they have confidence upon after the coalition which they thought would reset the country has lost focus hence their defection out of the party to NNPP.

According to him, they are all experienced people in NNPP from various political parties who decided to come together to see how they could clinch to power in order to salvage the country and Nigerians from leadership incompetence of both PDP and APC in 2023.

He further noted that the choice of Hon. Ibrahim Bappa Waziri, a former lawmaker and minority leader in the Adamawa state House of Assembly and former state party chairman as his campaign DG is based on merit, competence and credibility.
