Adamawa SDP crisis: My suspension exercise in futility –Bello

A former member of the House of Representatives and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) gubernatorial aspirant in Adamawa state, Hon. Emmanuel Bello, has dismissed his alleged suspension by the state chapter of the party, describing it as illegal.
The former All Progressives Congress (APC) member, who defected early this year to the SDP, further said the so-called suspension by the state chapter of the party led by Dr. John Luka, was laughable, illegal and an exercise in futility. He explained that the allegations levelled against him by the party, which led to his socalled suspension, are baseless, mischievous and a calculated attempt to tarnish his political image. He claimed that Dr. Luka and his group were those that received instructions from outside Adamawa State just to destabilize the party in the state, noted that they will be put to shame.
Bello stated this in a press statement issued in Yola, through his press secretary, Umar Mustapha, who noted that, it was illegal for any group or individual to convene a meeting on behalf of the SDP in Adamawa state when an interim steering committee was put in place on the 11th April, 2018 a day before the illegal suspension. Part of the statement reads: “You will recall that on the 12th April, 2018, one Dr. John Luka Njiling at a press conference levelled a number of allegations against Hon. Chief Emmanuel Bello.
“Some of the accusations include use of unauthorized membership register and membership cards and planning to set up a parallel structure in all the local governments among others” “We wish to categorically state that the allegations were fraudulent, baseless, mischievous and calculated attempt to tarnish the image of Hon Chief Emmanuel Bello”, the statement said. Bello said since Major Gen John Zaruwa was appointed a convener of the SDP Adamawa state movement for new political order to mobilise and integrate new members it would had been illegal for any individual or group to convene a meeting on behalf of SDP in Adamawa state.
