Adesanya confirms next date against Romero

Nigeria’s mixed martial arts (MMA) champion, Israel Adesanya has been offered a date for his next tile defence, as he is set to take on Yoel Romero at the upcoming 248th edition of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Details of the report disclosed that the UFC middleweight champ will go out for his first official title defense at UFC 248 on March 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA against Romero, who is regarded as an MMA veteran.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto added that Adesanya, who is officially registered under the flag of New Zealand, will tango Romero in a bout to headline UFC 248, ahead of which another fight expert, Dana White revealed that the Nigerian-born title holder is already itching to enter the arena.
It will be his first outing, after Adesanaya leapt to MMA stardom in October with a dominant win over then-champion, Robert Whittaker, knocking out the Australian in the second round to unify the middleweight title.

Adesanya got his shot at the title thanks to a classic win over Kelvin Gastelum to capture the interim belt, during which the 30-year-old star gained a large chunk of followership because of his colorful walk and dances.
