Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina; Senator Hope Uzodinma and renowned Catholic priest, Fr. George Ehusani, are among guest speakers at the celebration of the 2018 World Communication Day. A press statement by Chairman, Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja Planning Committee, Charles Ojugbana, yesterday in Abuja, stated that “plans have been concluded for a successful celebration.” It read in part: “Two land mark events, a national public lecture and a thanksgiving Holy Mass have been scheduled to commemorate the day.”
“The public lecture will hold on Friday, May 11, at the National Press centre, Abuja, with the theme: Journalism for Peace, The Nigeria Example, with renowned public speaker, Fr. George Ehusani, as keynote speaker. “Other speakers of include the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina; Senator Hope Uzodinma.”
Also, expected at the lecture are the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, and Chairman of the event, Engr. Emmanuel Mbaka. The committee chairman added: “The 2018 World Communication Day will be rounded off on Sunday, May 13, 2018, with a special Holy Mass by the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, to celebrate Nigerian media practitioners at the Church of the Assumption, Asokoro, Abuja.”
