Adhere strictly to Covid-19 protocols – Niger gov’s aide

The special adviser on politics and strategy to the Niger state governor, Alhaji Nma Kolo, has cautioned Nigerians on the need to strictly observe the Covid-19 protocols during the Easter celebrations, warning that “the virus is not yet totally tamed.”

Kolo, who gave the advice in a statement issued in Minna on Friday, insisted that people should celebrate with great caution and moderation.

“I charge you all to continue in the spirit of the Holy month and also remember to rejoice with moderation and observe all the Covid-19 protocols including wearing of face masks, hand washing and sanitising as well as keeping social and physical distances because the pandemic has not been totally tamed,” the statement read in part.

Kolo said although the state government had put up concerted efforts to make available Covid-19 vaccination to all interested people, the public should always remember that the disease had not been totally wiped out.

“While rejoicing with our Christian brothers and sisters for successfully completing this year’s 40-day Lenten season and the Easter celebrations, I charge you all to continue in the spirit of the Holy month by making more sacrifices for the growth and development of our dear state.”
