Adikwu challenges ASN on public health technology

The Vice chancellor of the federal university of Abuja, Professor Michael Adikwu, has charged members and students of Anatomical society of Nigeria (ASN) to strive to find solutions that will partner the current policy on transformation agenda in tackling national challenges
Professor Adikwu who was represented by professor Ameh, at the 11th annual conference meeting of the association in Abuja yesterday, assured that the management of the university will continue to support the association, and remained resolute in promoting research and public health technology.

He invited qualified academics who are desirous of teaching in the university to turn in the in applications
Earlier in his welcome address, the president of the association, Professor blessing Didia, said the conference whose theme is “Anatomy and the transformation agenda” with subthemes as ‘DNA banking and National Security, Organ Donation-the Nigerian experience’, is deliberately chosen to tally with goings on in our country and the world of medicine so that the subject of Anatomy will remain relevant and not restricted to mere dissection of the human body.

He said ’’our capabilities in Nigeria today as Anatomy Scientists are limited by the poor availability of research tools, making it impossible for us to compete favorable with our counterparts in the Western World. While transformation agenda of our government is going, agreeably at a rate we have not noticed before, we must we must bring their attention to the fact that in the Education Sector, research facilities should be developed’’
He further assured that anatomist has the knowledge but lack the material capacity  and insisted that adequate justice will be done to the theme
