ADP senatorial candidate joins PDP in Osun


The Osun West Senatorial Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the 2019 General Election, Prince Dotun Babayemi, on Thursday, led hundreds of his supporters to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).


Babayemi left the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2018, and joined ADP where he contested Osun West Senatorial election.
He defected to the PDP alongside chieftains of ADP including Alhaji Bakare Akanmola, the Chairman of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC).


Others are: Alhaji Demola Jekayinfa, Alhaji Abbas Akinwale, Mr Abiodun Balogun, Chief (Mrs) Aduke Raji, Mr Abayomi Ajao, Elder Moses, Alhaji Alimi Alalde, Hon. Ojo Wasiu, Prince Oyeleke Oyetunji, Hon. Alawode Kolade Micheal, Hon. Suraju Alade, Hon. Ibraheem Semiu, Hon. Akeem Akanni, Elder  Fatai.
He said he was very happy to join PDP with his supporters and assured of his readiness to work for the success of the party in the state.


Reacting, the state PDP Chairman, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo, assured Babayemi of equal treatment in PDP.


He conveyed the goodwill message of Senator Ademola Adeleke to Babayemi and his team. He said their defection would be a good relief to the party.


While presenting the flag of PDP to Babayemi, the National Vice Chairman of the Party [South West], Mr Eddy Olafeso, urged members of PDP to accommodate the new members, saying, they are assets to the party.


Olafeso applauded Babayemi for the courage summoned to join the party and described him as a great man. He, thereafter, commended Honorable Adagunodo for his leadership acumen and pray that Osun PDP will be victorious at the Supreme court.


The event was attended by PDP chieMftains including, Chief Suhaib Oyedokun, Dr Olu Alabi, Ahaji Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa, Elder Peter Babalola, Akogun Lere Oyewumi; the Minority leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon Babajide Kofoworola, Hon Olaniran Akanfe Atidade, and other party chieftains.
