AFCON qualifiers: Triumphant Super Eagles return to Lagos for Lesotho clash

Triumphant Super Eagles are back to Lagos on Sunday afternoon after defeating Benin Republic in the  Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday

The team left Porto-Novo on Sunday morning through the Lagos State Waterways Authority boat with more than four vessels spotted conveying them.

Our correspondent gathered that the team returned to their camp at the Eko Hotel before they were hosted to a qualification party by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick and the Nigerian Brewery at the Beach House Lagos, to celebrate their win against Benin Republic, qualification for the 2021 AFCON and his appointment into FIFA’s executive council.

Also in attendance is the NFF second Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi and other top officials of the team and other stakeholders

The team it was learnt observe Sunday as a rest day but will return to training on Monday morning to perfect strategy for the Lesotho encounter.

Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr with qualification already in the bag may likely tinker with his team by giving some youngsters opportunity to express themselves but majority of his key players are expected to file out against the Crocodiles of Lesotho to finish the qualification on a high.
