AFCON U20: F/Eagles confront Wikki Tourist Thursday


Nigeria’s U20 national team, Flying Eagles will confront Wikki Tourists Thursday evening at the FIFA Goal Project, Package B of the MKO stadium, Abuja.
The friendly is part of the team final’s preparation before heading to AFCON U20 qualifiers in Benin Republic.


Few days ago, the Coach Ladan Bosso led side thumped another Nigeria Football Professional side, Nasarawa United 4-2 in a thrilling encounter after playing a series of Academy football club based in Abuja and environs.


The match against Wikki Tourists is also to assess the level of readiness of the team for the competition.


On Wednesday, six more players were dropped from the team ahead of the announcement of the final squad for next month’s AFCON U20 qualifiers in Benin Republic.


Former Golden Eaglets midfielder Hassan Hussein, who also failed to make the final squad to the U17 AFCON in Tanzania, was one of the players dropped.
Coach Bosso is expected to name his final squad for the zonal qualifier after the friendly with Wikki Tourists, which is the deadline for the submission of team list to the tournament organisers.
The qualifiers WAFU B edition will kick off on December 5 in Lome with the Flying Eagles opening their campaign the following day against Cote d’Ivoire. The team is expected to leave Abuja on December 2nd for Lome .
Ghana are the other team in the Flying Eagles group.
