AFN to organise African Games trials in June -Technical Director

The Technical Director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria Sunday Adeleye has disclosed that the federation will hold trials for the All African Games in June.

According to him, athletes will soon be called to camp.

Majority of the  athletes to be invited to camp  just came back from  Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) U-18 and U-20 championships in Cote d’Ivoire our correspondent gathered .

The AFN which featured no fewer than 86 athletes in the competition which ended on April 20, came third in both categories.

 “We thank God for the medals won. We have put the CAA championships behind us and we will continue working because the African Games is around the corner.

“We hope to organise the trials in June because the Games is in August,” he said.

The 12th African Games is scheduled for Aug. 19 to Aug. 31 in Rabat, Morocco.
