After 8 years, Muslims in Banki perform Jumma’at prayer

Jumma’at prayer was on Friday observed by the Muslim residents of Banki town in Bama local Government area of Borno state after 8 years.

Due to the presence of terrorists activitist in the last 8 years in the area, there had been restriction on Jumma’at prayer in Banki central mosque.

However, the recent improvements in the efforts of the Nigerian Army towards the fight against insecurity in area afford the Muslim faithful in Banki to observed Jumma’at prayer in the central mosque.

Banki is a border town with the Republic of Cameroon .

Bama and Banki are the only two towns in Bama local Government area where people currently reside

The other communities in the local Government are uninhabited as they are deemed not safe due to the activities of terrorists.
