History has been made in Adamawa state as Governor Ahnadu Umaru Fintiri commissioned the first ever electrification project in Toungo, the only local government area in the state that has no electricity since it’s creation and has been living in darkness for over 20 years.

Speaking at the commissioning of the project in Toungo as part of activities marking his two years in office, Governor Fintiri expressed appreciation to God almighty for making it possible to be part of the historic moment in fulfillment of his promise of connecting Toungo to National grid.

“Today I address you with a gladdened heart. My joy indeed knows no bounds. I’m particularly grateful to God that I’m part of making of this history. Some two years ago, I came here leading a campaign train. In this history town and on this spot, I made a promise not only to connect Toungo to the National grid  but to redefined politics and establish trust between politicians and electorates in Adamawa today.

“To the people of Ganye chiefdom especially Toungo, I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart. As the saying goes better late than never. The Toungo electricity project has lingered for too long to the point of a collective embarrassment. Atlast there is light in Toungo. You can breath a sight of relief amidst understanding that politicians aren’t after all the same, ” he said.

Fintiri further noted that with the commissioning and the right feeding from the National grid, Toungo is energised and the day of witnessing heat and night of darkness is over adding, “his administration is mindful of the role stable power supply plays in energising and stimulating the economy.

He reiterated his administration’s commitments to bring infrastructural development to all parts of the state through inclusive governance and open the state for investors.
