Despite the military capturing 10 camps of Boko Haram in Maiduguri, the dreaded insurgents have again unleashed terror on neighbouring Adamawa state, killing over 20 people.
Reports at our disposal showed that a suspected suicide bomber blew himself up yesterday, killing nine other people at a livestock market in Garkida town, Gombi local government area of the state.

Similarly, no fewer than 10 persons were feared killed in a renewed attack by the insurgents on Ajiya Wagga village in Madagalil local government area of the state.
Local traders say that the explosion went off around 2:15 p.m. near the market when merchants were busy selling and buying.

Abubakar Musa, a cattle dealer, said: “It was around 2:15 p.m., after Zuhr prayer, while people were busy selling and buying, that we just heard a loud explosion close to sheep, goats  and vegetable stalls of the market.

“Instantly, we rushed to the scene where we saw nine corpses while several others that were in critical condition were later rushed to the hospitals.”
Mrs. Lami Aboki, also a trader, also said:  “Most of the bodies were mutilated, with heads and other parts removed.”
Though efforts to get Army spokesman Captain Ja’afaru Nuhu proved abortive, however, a member representing Gombi in the state Assembly, Mr. Jerry Kundusi, confirmed that no fewer than nine persons were killed and 14 others seriously injured.

“Yes, I have been told that nine persons were killed instantly, fourteen others   injured and already an anti-bomb personnel have been deployed to the scene and normalcy restored,’’ he said.
The attack at Ajiya Wagg village in the northern part of Adamawa also resulted in the death of 10 persons.
The insurgents attacked on Sabon Gari town led to the death of one person while six women were abducted.
One of the fleeing residents of Ajiya Wagga, Mr. Timothy Wagra, said the militants struck in the middle of the night while people had gone to bed, saying they started shooting sporadically, in the process killing many.

“Many people are still in the bush as they fear another attack by the gunmen as some flee to neighbouring villages,” Wagra said.
Reports said that many villagers sustained various degrees of injury and were evacuated to hospitals for proper medical attention.
However, when contacted, spokesman of the Adamawa state police command, DSP Othman Mohammed, said the police were yet to receive an official report on the incident.
