Again, community rejects royal father

The people of Obodo Ujichi autonomous community in Ahiazu Mbaise local government area of Imo state have rejected, for the umpteenth time, the imposition of one Chief Desmond Diala as the traditional ruler of the community.
The reason for the latest development was because the Ezeship election matter was taken to Aboh Mbaise High Court by the committee handling the election when a problem arose.

According to a community leader and member, Ezeship Election Committee, Chief Albert Diala, who spoke to newsmen recently, the people were against conducting the election without the constitution of the land as they were against a strange method, Option A4.
He said: “But to our greatest surprise, the same Chief Desmond Diala was lured into participating in an election which no other aspirant participated in. And when the court learnt about it, it was nullified. Yet, he continued to parade himself as the Eze-elect and was warming up   to collect a staff of office from the Governor when the matter has been in court.”

The community leader further said the so-called Eze-elect was even charged for contempt of court and that relevant documents were readily available.
