Again, FG postpones 2019 Abuja Carnival

The Federal Ministry of Information and Culture has announced the postponement of the 2019 Abuja Carnival which was earlier billed to hold between 23 to 26th of November.

In a statement by the ministry’s Chief Press Secretary, Joe Mutah, said a new date would be announced for the Carnival in due course.

The ministry, however, apologised to all invited guests for any inconvenience the postponement might have caused.

Blueprint reports that the carnival, which was established in 2005, is a culturally-stimulating event aimed at displaying the ground-breaking creative spirit of Nigerian communities.

Different activities held at the carnival showcased the diversity of indigenous as well as cross-cultural people from all over the world.

Since its inception to successful following years, it has become one of the popular events in the international calendar as well as the prominent tourism cultural yield in Nigeria.

The event features roadside shows, music, dances, skits, masquerade, and Durbar. Abuja warmly welcomes participants from all the 250 ethnic groups found within different states of Nigeria.

The most popular among all the festivals is the Durbar. Horses are prepared to pay traditional homage to the Emirs with a motive to keep the cultural heritage alive.
