As an annual tradition, a top Kaduna-based multiple award winning online platform, Authentic News Daily, has announced winners of the 8th edition of its prestigious awards for the year 2022.
For the second year back to back, Bola Olagoke, the Deputy Online Editor of the Blueprint Newspaper has been announced as the Journalist of the Year 2022.
A statement by its Consulting Editor, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, also named Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele as its Man of the Year 2022.
The statement said this year’s award for the Best Journalist category is shared between Bode Olagoke of Blueprint Newspaper and the Northern Bureau Chief, Nigerian Tribune Muhammad Sabiu.
The statement said: “The duo were outstanding within the year under review. While Bode Olagoke was the sole winner in 2021, Sabiu’s impactful reportage on the kidnapping of school children, and abduction of Abuja – Kaduna train passengers among others could not be ignored.
Olagoke, who hails from Okeho, Oyo state, is a graduate of Mass Communications with Masters Degree in Media Arts from the University of Abuja.
According to the statement, Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi is the AUTHENTIC POLITICIAN of the Year, while a former Senator Dino Melaye emerged opposition figure of the Year.
The statement added that President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engr Musa Nimrod emerged Sports Personality of the Year for the fifth time, after winning same in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
“As it was done in the seven previous editions, winners of the awards in the 17 categories have emerged,” it stated.
The statement congratulated the winners, while urging them to keep up the good works that earned them the recognition.
