He said members of the vigilante service were alerted who responded in good time, and chased the bandits, adding that there was exchange of gun fire, a situation that forced the captors to abandon one of the children and whisked away the mother and two children.

The resident further stated that the lady’s husband was a staff of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria who works in planning department.

Blueprint correspondent reports that Giwa LGA had been the target of bandits where many people were kidnapped and killed.

As at the time of filing this report, effort to reach the state Police command’s spokesman, ASP Mohammed Jalige, for comment on the incident wasn’t possible as his mobile phone was busy, and he didn’t respond to text message sent to him.

However, the acting Chairman of the LGA, Zubairu Alhassan Zico, confirmed the incident.
