The Kaduna State Environmental Protection Authority (KEPA), said it had provided four industrial sites for sale of gas products in Kaduna metropolis, to safeguard lives and properties.
General Manger of KEPA, Mr Lawal Jibrin, stated this in an interview Tuesday in Kaduna.
Jibrin stated that Governor Nasir El-Rufai approved the four locations for gas plant operators and retailers to carry out their business.
The governor had on January 7, ordered the immediate closure of all gas retail outlets located in residential areas across the state.
“The governor has approved the allocation of four industrial sites for sales of gas products at Kaduna-Zaria expressway, Ungwar Muazu, Kakuri industrial site and NNPC Junction,” he said.
The KEPA boss said the agency would continue to sensitise gas operators and consumers to prevent any form of emergency.
“We will take necessary regulatory measures to ensure that only licensed operators dispense the commodity to consumers to ensure safe handling,” Jibrin said. (NAN)
