Ahead Korea 100th independence anniversary: KCCN partners FCT education board, engages teachers, kids in arts display

Korea Cultural Centre in Nigeria (KCCN) has rolled out plans ahead of its country’s 100 years of independence.

Part of the activities lined up for the celebration was an Arts workshop put together by the centre for teachers and school kids.

There were also arts drawing competition as part of the event which held inside KCCN premises in Abuja.

Talking about the essence of the programme put together in collaboration with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), the KCCN Director, Mr Lee Jinsu, said bringing school teachers and kids to the centre was part of ways of enlightening Nigerians about Korean culture.

“The purpose of the event is to promote art and encourage kids to trade the path of art and also to make Nigerians and the world understand Korea culture through pictures,” he said.

FCT UBEB Coordinator Mrs. Okafor Irene thanked the organisers for yet another opportunity given to the children to display their talents.

While recalling that UBEB has enjoyed long existing relation which has lasted for 10 years with KCCN, Mrs. Irene said the partnership had been beneficial in all ramifications.

She stated that each selected would eventually on May 8, 2019, being the day slated for the final competition before prizes would be issued out same day.

The UBEB Boss however solicited for an all-expense paid trip by KCCN for its teachers and school children to South Korea in a bid to know more about the Koreans.

The event among other things featured lecture presentation by Mr. Nelson Osabiku and round tour of KCCN as well as film display with the theme “fight to freedom”.

The participating teachers were later asked to demonstrate their artistic skills through painting and design works.
