Ahmed seeks tenure extension for Kwara varsity VC

Kwara state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has asked the House of Assembly to amend the provision of the Bill that established the State University (KWASU) to extend the tenure of the current vice-chancellor, Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’ala.
He said the request for extension of the vice-chancellor’s tenure was to ensure that a solid foundation was laid to guarantee sustainable growth of the institution.
The governor made the request in a message to the House read at the floor by the Speaker, Razak Atunwa.
In the message, the governor urged the House to give the Bill the deserved attention and passage into law.
Speaker of the House, Hon Rasaq Atunwa, directed the Committee on Rules and Business to table the Bill for discussion.
