A’Ibom Police demolish kidnappers lodge in Uyo

The commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom state Command, Zaki Ahmed, on Friday ordered men of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to immediately demolish the kidnappers lodge allegedly built to keep abducted government officials and foreign investors in the state.

According our reporter, armed men of the SARS, journalists and a bulldozer stormed the kidnappers den at about 7pm Friday; condoned the forest and provided cover as the bulldozer reduced the two months old mansion to rubble.

The Senior Special Adviser to governor Udom Emmanuel on security Matters, Capt Iniobong Ekong(Rtd)and Mr Essien Ndueso, Special Assistant to the governor who witnessed expressed satisfaction with the operations of the men of the state command and the governor’s vow to make the state safe for residents and investors.

According to a source, “the leader of the kidnappers popularly known among the gang members as ‘Emeka Million” finance the building of this house from the ransom of N30,000 collected from victim during the just concluded general elections.

“The house is built in this forest to keep kidnapped government officials and investors in the state, pending negotiations. Their target is government officials and investors from where they can make more money. Imagine they were demanding for N500 Million from the expertraite  kidnapped last month before we rescued him, without paying a kobo”.

Speaking earlier at a media briefing at the Police headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, the Police Public Relations Officer Akwa Ibom State Command, SP Odiko MacDon said that the expatriate who is a staff of Zenith Construction Company, was abducted on Tuesday 30th April 2019 by hoodlums at a project site in Mbiaya, Uruan local government area of the state.

 One Sergeant Mohammed Sarba attached to zone 6 police command who is  attached to the construction company on special duty was murdered during the incident and his  Ak-47 rifle carted away.
