Airtel to launch 4G network in Abuja major cities soon

Airtel Nigeria has revealed plans to launch it’s 4G network in Abuja and other major cities in the country soon.
The telecommunications operator gave this assurance while launching its 4G network in Ibadan, Oyo, South West, Nigeria.
Other cities to follow include Lagos, Port Harcourt and Owerri.
Managing Director, Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya said more cities will be added.
Ogunsanya said with the new 4G service, Airtel is restructuring the communications industry with this launch in Ibadan.
According to Ogunsanya, Airtel’s 4G network will have the largest coverage in Nigeria.
He said Airtel’s plan is to introduce the right technology and there is no giving up on that until all the major cities in Nigeria are covered as the service aids economic activities in Ibadan and other cities.
He explained the choice of Ibadan was based on the city’s past record with the communications industry.
He also assures that the new 4G service would guarantee faster browsing and download capacity for subscribers on the Airtel network.
Chairman, Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), Olabiyi Durojaiye commended the company’s effort to introduce the product which he said would enhance the work of the telecoms industry regulator.
Durojaiye stressed that NCC will continue to provide enabling environment for operators in the industry to ensure quality service provision.
Other dignitaries at the launch included the Oba of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji and the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Moses Alake.
