Aisha Alhassan meets Buhari, keeps mum on Atiku

Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday met with the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Jummai Alhassan, and other cabinet ministers at the launch of the Policy Framework and National Action Plan for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The minister, a loyalist of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), last week, declined to comment on the development When approached by State House correspondents for her comments on Atiku’s exit from the APC, the minister refused to talk.
The minister had in September said that she would support Atiku for the 2019 presidential election.
“Atiku is my godfather even before I joined politics,” she had said.
In an interview with BBC Hausa Service, she said would support the former vice-president even if President Buhari decided to seek re-election in 2019.
