Aisha Buhari donates maternity complex, empowers 200,000 women, youths in Adamawa

Nigerian first lady Hajiya Aisha Buhari through her pet project Future Assured in collaboration with National directorate of employment (NDE) has empowered 200,000 women and youths in her state of Adamawa.

 She also donated 200 beds capacity ultra-modern maternity complex to federal medical centre (FMC) yola through her foundation Aisha Buhari foundation among other projects in the state.

Speaking at the event in yola Tuesday, the first Lady said “her decision to build and donates the maternity complex at federal medical centre yola is to ease the suffering of women and children in line with the federal government commitments to provide access to health care services.”

She further explained that, women and children issue will continued to be a priority to her while calling on wealthy individuals and non-governmental organisations to compliment government’s efforts to ensure effective health system.

Also speaking at the event, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri thanked Mrs.Buhari for her various humanitarian gestures and interventions which continued to bring succour to the people of the state .

He also solicits for her supports towards the conversion of madibbo Adamawa university of technology yola ( Mautech) to a conventional university stressing that, the abolition of management courses in the university  has reduced the admission intake of the university to 40%.

Fintiri further re- iterated his commitments to run an all-inclusive government where no one will be left behind.

 He said his administration will continued to partner with her and the federal government for the betterment of the state as he look forward for her supports and guidance.

On his part, the Director General National directorate for employment ( NDE) Dr.Nasir Mohammed Ladan who described the first lady as a mother to all Nigerians particularly women, youths and other vulnerable groups said that her efforts has helped the agency to key into the president Muhammadu Buhari’s mid-term economic policy thrust in the areas of massive empowerment of unemployed Nigerians.
